Sandy's result and Vanamotu
The sandy beach pro was the second event on the USBA tour. The event went off in big success. Contest director Jason Bitzer and his crew did a great job putting a professional and organized event. I didn't get the result I was looking for at all. I always learn really valuable lessons in my losses which is a good thing. I got 4th place in round two. I am not sure what my overall placing was in the event but I think it was my worst result since my first Jenk Pro event three years ago! Here is a quote from day one press release; "Keahi Parker and Amateur Trevor Kam made it through their first USBA Pro heats with consistant surfing. Leaving many big names in the dust such as Kainoa Lum and Jeremy Wright who had both surfed well but where ousted by local knowledge."
I was pretty bummed on my result but the fact that I was heading to the Cook Islands for three week the very next day made me feel a lot better. The waves have been good in Cooks and I will be putting some frame grabs up from videographer Eric, the guys who made THE DRIFT.
